TAVARES — The Mount Plymouth-Sorrento Planning Advisory Committee will hold a special quarterly report meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 16, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Round Lake Elementary School, located at 3133 Round Lake Road, Mount Dora.
This will be the first special quarterly meeting to be held by the committee. The committee initiated the idea to host these meetings to give interested citizens an update on their progress and to receive public comments. Among the issues that will be discussed during the meeting is the possible location for a new school site in the community as well as transportation and development issues.
The Mount Plymouth-Sorrento Planning Advisory Committee is comprised of 11 citizens from the two communities. The committee works with the Lake County Department of Growth Management and other Lake County departments to further study and implement the recommendations presented in the Mount Plymouth-Sorrento Small Area Framework Study Report. The framework study was accepted by the Lake County Board of County Commissioners in 2003 and contains recommendations on residential densities, subdivision design, community commercial types and development form, all relating to furthering cohesiveness of community character.
