TAVARES — Lake County park rangers will lead a nature hike in search of native plants on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Pine Forest Park, located at 32520 State Road 44, DeLand.
During the hike, park rangers will identify native plants in one of the County's more biologically diverse parks in terms of plant life. The park also offers numerous bird and butterfly species to observe.
"This is also a good opportunity for the public to meet Lake County's newest Park Ranger Kimberly Hicks," said Park Ranger Gallus Quigley.
Participants are encouraged to wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Park rangers also recommend bringing insect repellent, water and a snack.
