TAVARES — The Lake County Board of County Commissioners at its regularly scheduled meeting Feb. 5 approved two awards from the Jobs Growth Investment (JGI) Trust Fund to Restor Telecom, Inc. and Sundrop Systems, Inc. for creating 30 new positions.
Lake County established and funded a jobs growth investment trust fund in 1995 to assist in business expansion and relocation projects deemed to be economically significant to the County. This program is funded annually by Lake County. Employers who create positions with an annual wage that is 115 percent or more of the Lake County average annual wage are eligible for awards per new job created.
Restor Telecom, Inc. of Leesburg provides electronics depot service to telecom and information technology industries. The company specializes in repair of voice, data, video, broadband, central office switching, transport, power/ring, wireless and wire-line equipment. Restor Telecom is creating 34 new positions in the next two years, with 15 qualifying for JGI awards totaling $30,000. Sundrop Systems, Inc. of Mount Dora is a software manufacturer for digital advertising. The company is expanding to add 16 new positions in the next year, with 15 qualifying for JGI awards totaling $49,000.
