TAVARES — The Lake County Department of Public Safety, Animal Services Division, is hosting a free rabies vaccination clinic for dogs and cats on Saturday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Animal Services facility, located at 28123 County Road 561 in Tavares.
The rabies vaccination and certificate are free to Lake County residents. To be eligible for the free shots, residents must purchase a County pet license. For a spayed or neutered pet, the license is $5 and for a pet that is not spayed or neutered the license is $11. Only cash will be accepted at the event.
Pets brought to the shelter for the vaccination clinic are required to be either on a leash or in a carrier. Animal Services is open for pet adoptions Monday-Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
