TAVARES — The Lake County Extension Office is encouraging equine enthusiasts to attend a Florida Equine Institute & Allied Trade Show hosted by the University of Florida Institute of Food & Agricultural Sciences, Central Florida Livestock Agents Group, on Thursday, Sept. 18, at the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion, located at 2232 NE Jacksonville Road, Ocala.
Discussion topics at the event includes horse farm weed control; the what, when and why of colic; equine gastric ulcers with a live endoscopic demonstration; treating equine laminitis; and the role of carbohydrates in the equine diet.
Reservations are required for Florida Equine Institute & Allied Trade Show. Before Sept. 5, the cost is $25 and after Sept. 5 or the day of the event the cost is $50. For more information, call the Marion County Extension Office at (352) 671-8400.
