TAVARES — At the request of the applicant, the Lake County Board of County Commissioners intends to delay a public hearing for the Karlton Development of Regional Impact (DRI) land-use amendment originally scheduled for April 25 to Tuesday, May 30, at 9 a.m.
The delay will enable the applicant for the proposed project to conduct three community meetings in the Clermont area. The mixed-use project is proposed on a 2,098-acre site to the east of U.S. Highway 27, near the border of Lake and Orange counties.
During the May 30 meeting, the Lake County Board of County Commissioners will consider transmitting the applicant’s request for a land-use amendment to the Lake County Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Map to the Florida Department of Community Affairs.
This transmittal hearing is the first of several hearings that will be held before the project is considered for final approval. The Lake County Board of County Commissioners meet in the Lake County Administration Building, located at 315 W. Main St. in Tavares.
