TAVARES — For the second consecutive year, the Lake County Extension Office is offering its Timely Topics series beginning with the program “Your Energy Efficient Home” on Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Lake County Agricultural Center, located at 1951 Woodlea Road, Tavares.
Last year’s series included eight educational programs with more than 300 participants. Programs during this edition of Timely Topics will be offered in the daytime and evening. The evening presentation of “Your Energy Efficient Home” will be Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Lake County Agricultural Center.
At the “Your Energy Efficient Home” programs, participants will learn what they can do to reduce energy use, save money and be environmentally responsible. The program provides easy steps to increasing the energy efficiency of a home. Participants will be encouraged to evaluate current energy use and identify opportunities for improvement. Information will also be provided about saving energy in daily life, maximizing energy savings in the home, shopping for energy efficient products and selecting less toxic cleaning supplies.
The Timely Topics series will continue until April with one program presented each month, except February, which will have two programs. All programs are free and provide research-based information that participants can use to improve or enhance their daily lives.
Pre-registration is appreciated but not required for Timely Topics. For more information or to register, call Rene Bass at (352) 343-4101 or e-mail email@example.com.
