TAVARES — The Lake County Extension Office is hosting three sets of “Take Control of Your Finances” beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 20, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Lake County Agricultural Center, located at 1951 Woodlea Road in Tavares.
The “Take Control of Your Finances” programs are two classes each. The three sets are Jan. 20 & 27, Feb. 19 & 26 and March 18 & 25. All classes are held at the Agricultural Center from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
“Start 2009 right by getting your finances in shape,” said Julie England, a Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agent with the Lake County Extension Office. “By attending a Take Control of Your Finances program, participants will learn the steps to better managing their money, reducing debt and securing their financial future.”
Participants will also learn how to create a personal spending plan, reduce cost of credit, find leaks in spending, set goals and minimize risk of identity theft.”
