TAVARES — The Lake County Department of Public Works is conducting a second public workshop on Thursday, May 4, at 6 p.m. to present alternative design concepts for widening and realigning Hartle Road, located south of the City of Clermont.
The workshop will be held at the South Lake Campus of Lake-Sumter Community College, located at 1250 N. Hancock Road in Clermont. The Department of Public Works recently conducted a project development and environment study for Hartle Road, from Hartwood Marsh Road to State Road 50. The purpose of this study was to identify and evaluate alternative alignments and typical sections for widening and extending Hartle Road.
At the first workshop on Dec. 15, 2005, initial plans were presented to the public to widen and realign Hartle Road. The second workshop will feature alternative design concepts on aerial maps and other graphical displays. Public Works staff and the transportation consulting firm of HNTB Corporation will present the information and will be available for questions.
For more information regarding the Hartle Road project or the scheduled workshop, call Noble Olasimbo, Project Manager for the Department of Public Works, at (352) 253-4983.
