TAVARES — In cooperation with the Lake County and Marion County cooperative extension offices, the Conservation Trust for Florida is sponsoring a series of seminars on agricultural-land conservation and estate planning with the first scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Golden Hills Golf and Turf Club, located at 4782 NW 80th Ave. in Ocala.
Topics of the seminar include basics of conservation easements, financial impacts and benefits, conservation-easement appraisals, long-term planning, and national, state and local resources. The seminar also includes a lunch field trip to a farm with a conservation easement at 11:30 a.m.
Speakers at the seminar include John Feldman, esquire, and A. Leon Stricklen, state-certified general appraiser. Farmers, ranchers, landowners, accountants, appraisers, lawyers, students and others interested in the protection of local farms, ranches and the other special places in the state are encouraged to attend the workshop.
