TAVARES — The Lake County Cooperative Extension is hosting the “Take Control of Your Finances” and “Build Your Bones” programs this month at the Lake County Agricultural Center, located at 1951 Woodlea Road in Tavares.
The two-part “Take Control of Your Finances” series is on Feb. 19 & 26 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Participants will learn the steps to creating a family or personal budget and how to reduce leaks in spending. (This program will also be offered March 18 & 25 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.)
“You will also learn how to reduce your cost of credit, steps to reduce credit card debt, control spending and set financial goals,” said Julie England, a Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agent with the Lake County Cooperative Extension.
The two-part “Build Your Bones” series is on Feb. 18 & 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Lake County Agricultural Center. Participants will learn risk factors for weak bones, medications and conditions that affect bone health, nutrition for better bones, exercises to maintain balance and bone health, and how to create a plan to reduce the risk for osteoporosis.
