TAVARES — The Lake County Cooperative Extension is pleased to announce that all study guides required for Florida pesticide applicator certification and licensing are now available at the City of Tavares Public Library, located at 314 N. New Hampshire Ave.
Previously, individuals obtaining their pesticide applicator license needed to purchase resource materials from Gainesville. These materials are now available in the reference section of the Tavares Public Library.
Pesticide applicator testing is done at the Lake County Agricultural Center, located at 1951 Woodlea Road in Tavares, the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 9 a.m. Extension agents periodically offer review classes, but for most exams, those interested in obtaining a pesticide applicator license can study the books at the library and schedule to take the test to suit their timeframe.
Listing of classes, license information and limited applications are available at http://cfextension.ifas.ufl.edu/agriculture/pesticide_training/index.shtml.
