TAVARES — The Lake County Cooperative Extension will present two money management series, titled “Take Control of Your Finances,” on May 6 & 13 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and May 27 & June 3 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Both series will take place at the Lake County Agricultural Center, located at 1951 Woodlea Road in Tavares.
“The series will help people better understand their personal finances and managing money in difficult financial times,” said Julie England, a Lake County Extension Agent, who is presenting the courses.
The “Take Control of Your Finances” series was designed to help people better manage their current financial situation and work toward a sound financial future. Studies have shown that people often do not adjust their spending for six months after their income has been reduced.
“Ignoring a difficult financial situation will only make things worse,” England said.
Participants are encouraged to attend both sessions of the two-class series. Both series are free, but participants are required to preregister by calling Rene Bass at (352) 343-4101 or e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
