“The part of my job that I enjoyed was working with the various County departments and promoting accountability,” she said.
Staff wished LaMarche a well retirement with a celebration Tuesday morning. The event was followed up with a special recognition during the Board of County Commissioners meeting.
“I’ve had the privilege of working with the most amazing commissioners through the years,” she said to the Board. “This is the best staff of any organization anywhere in the world. I’m so proud to have known you and many of you I will keep up with as my best friends for the rest of my life.”
Among her top accomplishments was helping the County earn the “Distinguished Budget Presentation Award” for outstanding policy document, operations guide, communications device and special performance measure from the Government Finance Officers Association. Very few governments in the nation and Canada obtain the honor.
“All the changes we’ve been through since Sarah has been here has just been amazing,” said Commissioner Welton Cadwell. “No matter what the change was she was there with a smile on and ready to adapt to them. I just really appreciate her service.”
