TAVARES — Lake County residents with questions about Hurricane Wilma preparations can call the Citizens Information Line at (352) 343-9732.
The citizen call line is open until Friday at 8 p.m. and will remain open through the weekend from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day.
“This will provide a resource for our citizens during the weekend,” said Jerry Smith, Director of the Lake County Emergency Management Division.
Meteorologists are predicting minimal hurricane impacts for Lake County this weekend. As a precaution residents can pick up sandbags at various locations in the County.
Sandbags will be available on Saturday, Oct. 22, and Sunday, Oct. 23, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at three Department of Public Safety Fire Rescue Division fire stations located at:
- Station 14, 42700 State Road 19, Altoona
- Station 53, 2505 Spring Lake Road, Fruitland Park
- Station 109, 11630 Lakeshore Drive, Clermont
