Tavares – Lake County Emergency Management is closely monitoring coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). In accordance with the decision of the Florida Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to raise the EOC activation level to level 1, the Lake County Emergency Communications and Operations Center (ECOC) is now at Level 2 – Partial Activation.
Residents are encouraged to follow recommendations from the Florida Department of Health (DOH) including employing proper handwashing techniques, staying home when sick, practicing social distancing of at least 6 feet and, if possible, avoid contact with others who are sick. If residents feel sick, they are urged to call their doctor to report any symptoms and to self-isolate for two weeks. Residents are also requested to self-isolate when returning from travel to high-risk areas.
