Tavares – All offices of the Lake County Board of County Commissioners, Property Appraiser, Supervisor of Elections, Tax Collector and the Lake County Extension Center will be closed Friday, July 3 in observance of Independence Day.
The Lake County Animal Shelter will be open Friday, July 3 and closed Saturday, July 4.
LakeXpress, the fixed-route bus system, will not operate on Independence Day, however Lake County Connection, the County’s disadvantaged transportation service, will provide dialysis service only. LakeXpress and Lake County Connection will operate normally on Friday, July 3.
All Lake County Library libraries will be closed on Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4. Additionally, the Helen Lehmann Memorial Library in Montverde will also be closed on Monday, July 6.
All residential trash, recycling and yard waste will be collected as regularly scheduled during the July 4 holiday week. Lake County’s Central Landfill Facility in Tavares and all of the convenience centers will be open on Friday, July 3 and closed on Saturday, July 4.
Any excess trash, recycling and yard waste set out curbside in plastic bags or garbage cans will be accepted during the first week after the holiday. No hazardous waste items will be collected. Large bulk items such as furniture, may be placed at the curb for collection. To schedule a pickup for a bulk item, call 352-343-3776.
