The Office of Facilities Management provides services related to the maintenance and energy management of completed facilities. This Division is
charged with the overall management of all County-owned and occupied facilities. Functions include maintaining and operating the
facilities in a safe and efficient manner. The Division is divided into four groups according to function:
The Administration Division provides support services for the department, including general administration, accounting, budgeting, and planning. Included in this division is the Architectural Services area. This area directs and coordinates the activities of professional architects, engineers, and other consultant personnel with regard to new and existing facilities. The staff architect prepares initial concept drawings and contributes to initial cost estimate. Staff duties include reviewing and approving all plans an specifications submitted by consultants, contractors, and other agencies to ensure conformance with project guidelines and all applicable local, state, and national building codes and practices.
Administration section provides planning and oversight for projects under construction by assessing the plans and costs for new County facilities,
and for proposed renovations to existing facilities. Staff ensures that projects conform to project guidelines and all applicable local,
state, and national building codes and practices.
The Energy Management Group is responsible for operating and maintaining all building systems at the optimum level of efficiency for energy consumption, client comfort, and Indoor Air Quality. This includes the coordination and supervision of consultants and contractors.
The Facilities Maintenance Group oversees general and preventive maintenance,
including the coordination and direction of contractors and consultants hired to perform work.
Jail and Sheriff Facilities Maintenance
The Jail and Sheriff Facilities Maintenance Group is charged with maintaining the Lake County Detention Center and all of the Lake County Sheriff’s Department facilities, including the coordination and supervision of consultants and contractors.
