Office of Public Safety Support

Coordinates and supervises the installation and maintenance of the County’s public safety radio infrastructure and related components to ensure an effective means of communication for first responders, law enforcement and fire/rescue personnel. Responsible for evaluating radio system requirements and operational status; recommending and overseeing the installation of appropriate equipment; managing the work of contractors; inspecting equipment and operations and coordinating necessary maintenance and repairs; and performing related administrative and technical work as required. May be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.

Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Requires associate’s degree in communications engineering, utility engineering, electronics or a closely related field with four (4) years of related experience.
Requires a valid Florida driver’s license.
Requires a valid FCC General Radio Telephone License.
ANTICIPATED STARTING SALARY FOR THIS POSITION IS $19.56 PER HOUR WHICH IS $40,684.80 ANNUALLY.
