Public Works - Road Operations

Provides leadership in and conducts inspections of County roadways, stormwater systems and/or other County construction projects for compliance with applicable regulations. Responsible for training and supervising subordinate inspectors, performing construction inspection and plan review, maintaining inspection/review records, and performing related administrative and technical tasks as assigned. This position may be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Requires high school diploma or GED, and one year of college or vocational school education in construction management/inspection or a closely related field with five (5) years of related experience.
May require certification in the Advanced Maintenance of Traffic course or ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of employment.
May require certification in the Florida Stormwater Erosion and Sedimentation Control course or the ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of employment.
Requires a valid Florida driver’s license.
THE ANTICIPATED STARTING SALARY FOR THIS POSITION IS $19.56 PER HOUR WHICH IS $40,684.80 ANNUALLY.
