Lake County's Agency for Economic Prosperity Executive Director position reports directly to the County Manager and serves as his/her chief economic development and tourism administrator. The position has four (4) primary focus areas:
- Implementing marketing and outreach programs to attract, retain and grow business, industry and jobs in Lake County; assessing the needs of the business community, introducing innovative programs and proactive solutions to produce effective economic development results, and establishing policies and programs that aid in the retention, success and expansion of existing businesses.
- Creating and implementing programs that promote Lake County as a destination for leisure travel, conferences, sporting events, meetings and special events in order to advance tourism and recreation within the County.
- Oversight of the Lake County Fairgrounds and Event Center, and the creation of policies and programs to drive usage at the facility.
- Monitoring County policy and strategy decisions and providing feedback to the County Manager regarding the impacts and implications of said decisions on the Lake County economy.
The position is responsible for creating, supervising, directing and evaluating all Agency goals, staff and budget, and performs related duties as assigned or needed. This position may be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.

Lake County is looking for an experienced, dynamic and effective individual with excellent communication and presentation skills with proven leadership experience. The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a closely related field and 10 years of progressively responsible related experience in business fundamentals and business support, attraction, retention and expansion. Equivalent combinations of training and experience may be considered. The ideal candidate will also be familiar with state and local incentives and must possess a valid Florida Driver’s license.
