Assists in planning and coordinating activities for the preparation for, mitigation of, response to and recovery from natural or man-made disasters within Lake County. Responsible for communicating emergency plans and procedures to municipalities, healthcare agencies, emergency response agencies, County offices and the general public; coordinating grant contracts for programs and services; maintaining program records and reports, and performing general administrative tasks as assigned. May be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Requires Associate’s Degree in one of the public safety fields of study or government/administrative management with three (3) years of related experience in public safety operations or planning experience with completed course work specific to preparation, response, recovery, and/or mitigation.
Valid Florida driver’s license.
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Professional Development Series Certificate.
Florida Emergency Preparedness Association’s Florida Associate Emergency Manager Certification or the ability to achieve certification within two years.
THE ANTICIPATED SALARY FOR THIS POSITION IS $16.53 PER HOUR WHICH IS $34,382.40 ANNUALLY.
