Public Works - Environmental Services - Stormwater

The essential function of the position within the organization is to perform technical and administrative work in the County's Water Resource Laboratory and to assist with the coordination of volunteer programs in the Division. This position has a strong emphasis on customer service, organizational skills and attention to detail. The position is responsible for performing environmental sampling, chemical and microbiological analysis and data entry. Additional duties include coordination and recruitment of volunteers and sponsors to work cooperatively on environmental program restoration, clean-up and beautification events, seeks and administers grants to fund programs and performs other tasks as required. This position may be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Requires associate’s degree in environmental studies, laboratory technology, biology or a closely related field with two (2) years of related experience.
Requires a valid Florida driver's license.
THE ANTICIPATED STARTING SALARY FOR THIS POSITION IS $16.53 PER HOUR. THIS IS A LIMITED TERM POSITION.
