Performs duties and tasks as a member of the web development team. The position helps implement the goals established for the direction of web technologies for the County, and integrates new and improved processes for Lake County’s online web presence, while performing web application design, database integration, and server management.
The Web Developer creates and maintains multiple County websites, performs related technical and administrative duties, and provides professional customer service as required.
May be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.
Consults with County administrators, department/office heads and technical staff to identify and evaluate the feasibility of proposed Internet projects; prepares and documents project specifications, and designs, develops, tests, and implements web applications to meet specific business needs.
Helps to research, test and recommend web-based technologies and software to integrate into Lake County websites and helps implement the established direction of future web projects.
Designs, programs, creates, troubleshoots and maintains County websites; and makes routine updates as necessary.
Works closely with graphics and web team members to ensure web design standards are being met.
Troubleshoots errors in Internet applications and/or development software.
Creates and manages multiple server databases for Internet-based application development; ensures data integrity and security.
Receives and responds to citizens’ and customer email inquiries through the webmaster account.
Reports to the Emergency Operations Center during times of activation to help disseminate critical information to the public using Internet technology.
Gathers data to support periodic or special reports documenting activities in areas of assignment.
Performs clerical/administrative tasks such as entering and retrieving computer data, copying and filing documents, sending and receiving emails, answering the telephone.
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in computer technology, computer programming or another relevant field with two(2) years of related experience.
Requires a valid Florida driver's license.
PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WHO HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
- Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to conceptualize ideas and design web-based applications and content management systems. A skills demonstration will be required as part of the interview process.
- The anticipated starting salary is $52,312.00 per year.
