Job Summary:
The essential function of the position within the organization is to plan, implement, direct and supervise a comprehensive internal and external communications program for Lake County government to keep staff and the public informed of County programs, issues and accomplishments. The position is responsible for directing County marketing and public/media relations functions, managing promotions and special events, developing and maintaining an effective Internet/intranet web presence, overseeing graphic design and production for all County departments, and performing related professional, supervisory and administrative duties as assigned. The position develops and implements programs within organizational policies; reports major activities to executive level administrators through conferences and reports.

May be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Requires a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing or Advertising, Journalism, Communications or a closely related field.

Requires a valid Florida Drivers license.

Requires ten years of progressively responsible related experience.
