Job Summary:
The Lake County Office of Public Safety Support – Logistics provides support services to the Office of Fire Rescue, Office of EMS, and Municipal Fire Departments. This includes all stations for the Fire and EMS emergency response fleet and associated medical and firefighting equipment, supplies, and standardized inventory for first responder personnel that are not otherwise maintained by other Departments/Offices.

The position ensures effective and timely implementation of all Logistics daily operational goals inclusive of the purchase, receipt, storage, distribution and inventory management of supplies. It supports simplification and standardization of processes to enhance inventory controls and warehouse locations by identifying opportunities and implementing solutions for improvement. Administrative responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the procurement of supplies and materials, preparing informal bid specifications, obtaining competitive quotations from vendors, analyzing responses, and generating purchase requisitions. These tasks require independent judgment and familiarity with a wide variety of supplies, materials and equipment used by all offices, departments, divisions, and municipalities that are supported by the Office of Public Safety Support.

The essential function of the position is to oversee logistical operations and tasks including but not limited to ordering, purchasing, inventory control, distribution, warehousing, forecasting, auditing, and asset management.

This position requires a self-motivated individual to supervise all actions of the logistics bureau and supply chain management.

This position may be required to assist with emergency support functions and act as a Logistics Section Chief in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.



Minimum Qualifications:
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Requires Associate degree in a related field that includes supply chain management, inventory control, business administration, and/or logistics.

Requires a valid Florida driver’s license.

Requires the following within 6 months of hire/promotion.

• National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) IS-700.B: An Introduction to the National Incident Management System.
• NIMS – IS-100.C: Introduction to the Incident Command System, ICS100.
• NIMS – IS-200.C: Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response.


Preference will be given to candidates with the following: NIMS – E967: NIMS ICS All-Hazards Logistics Section Chief Course.
